Coupling check

Degree of wear of the conducted disk of coupling cannot be defined in the mounted state. The first sign of existence of defect when coupling slips. You will notice coupling slipping at the movement on the highest transfer under loading in the beginning. The engine works at high turns, and speed thus does not increase. The following method which needs to be used only occasionally can offer a certain explanation:

  1. Put the emergency brake, start the engine.
  2. Put the 3rd transfer, slowly include coupling and give gas.
  3. At the faultless emergency brake the engine has to decay.
  4. If the engine works, coupling is faulty.

Coupling is correctly switched off?

If the transmission at the warm engine badly switches or process of gear shifting is followed by the scraping or roaring sounds, probably coupling correctly is not switched off. Very seldom this effect is connected with malfunction of a transmission. To be sure, we will carry out an inspection on the 1st transfer or on transfer of a backing:


  1. Start the engine idling.
  2. Completely squeeze out a coupling pedal, wait about three moment, then try to include the 1st transfer or a backing.
  3. If transfer joins hardly or the gnash is heard, it means that coupling is switched off not purely, i.e. the conducted disk rotates not absolutely freely.
  4. Check hydraulic system of coupling and pump over it.
  5. Once again carry out an inspection.
