Noise in a transmission

Eventually the noise developing in a transmission can draw attention. In this case you have to check oil level in a transmission in the beginning.

  • If on any transfer there is a howling sound and its tone changes at increase or reduction of gas, perhaps, couple teeth are worn out by a gear wheel of this transfer.
  • If rustles arise on all transfers, the reason is covered in the main transfer or bearings of shaft of a transmission.
  • The rough milling noise which are audible only at a heated transmission, indicate the beating synchronizing rings. When oil is diluted, it is wrung out by the synchronizing ring always in the same place.
  • Noise during the work of torsen-differential which arise in a start of motion in quattro at strongly turned wheel, are normal and caused by a design.
