Restriction of number of turns

Our engines maintain quite high frequencies of turns. Valves are set in motion by means of the tarelochny pushers which are directly located over a distributive shaft. Thus the insignificant mass of metal that does not constitute danger to the drive of valves are set in motion.

This restriction is partial function of injection which with too high frequency of rotation of the engine stops further increase of turns by fuel interruption in supply. If you are surprised by interruptions in operation of the engine on high turns, it not defect, and the built-in self-defense of the engine. Border of number of turns in Audi for various engines the different:

  • Four-cylinder two-valve engine: 6500 rpm.
  • Four-cylinder five-valve engine: 6800 rpm.
  • Six-cylinder engine: 6200 rpm.
