Dismantling of a suspension bracket of forward wheels

Details of a forward depreciation rack and sequence of their assembly

The forward dismantled depreciation rack

In order that in the dismantled depreciation rack to separate a spring from the shock-absorber, spring coupling collars (shooters) are used.

 


At the left: the provision of a corner (And) the top plate of a spring on the right (R) and at the left (L) mirror in relation to a screwing up axis below at a bifurcate head (1). The arrow showed the direction of the movement (F).

In knots of a suspension bracket of forward wheels a lot of things can be sorted and collected independently though for carrying out certain works tools from a workshop are necessary. The damaged details of a suspension bracket of wheels cannot be corrected or even to weld, they need to be replaced only.

Dismantle of a forward depreciation rack

Dismantle of a depreciation rack in Audi A4 is not especially labor-consuming. Pleasantly also that it is not necessary to measure adjustment of wheels anew.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Get new samokontryashchiyesya nuts for fastening of a depreciation rack below and above, and also for the top screw connection of the bearing hinge.
  2. Lift both rubber tips in the moistening tank (they close the top screw connections of depreciation racks).
  3. Unscrew under them both nuts of a depreciation rack.
  4. Lift and record forward part of the car.
  5. Remove a wheel.
  6. Disconnect on a depreciation rack a wire to the sensor of number of turns of ABS.
  7. Unscrew a nut of a tightening bolt of the top hinge of an axis. Take out tightening a bolt.
  8. Take out axis hinges from the case of the wheel bearing (rotary fists) up. Thus do not expand, for example, with a screw-driver of vents in the case of the wheel bearing at all.
  9. Do not wring out the hinge of cross steering draft.
  10. Cast away outside the case of the wheel bearing.
  11. Unscrew the lower screw connection of a depreciation rack.
  12. Carefully take out a depreciation rack from a wheel niche.
  13. Installation: establish a depreciation rack so that the opening in the lower plate of a spring was turned to the center of the car.
  14. Tighten the lower fastening of a depreciation rack on 90 Nanometers.
  15. Insert the bearing hinges into the case of the wheel bearing against the stop.
  16. Insert tightening a bolt of the top hinges of an axis, tighten a nut on 40 Nanometers.
  17. Again fix ABS wire.
  18. Tighten the top nuts of a depreciation rack on 20 Nanometers.

Replacement of the forward shock-absorber

This work which is carried out on the dismantled depreciation rack, surely requires the spring tension device. At least, two tension devices are used; better three. Without use of the tension device it is impossible to weaken a nut with a flange above on the shock-absorber piston rod piston as the spring is under a high preliminary tension. Details of a depreciation rack can scatter in different directions, as at explosion, – extreme danger of receiving injuries! Besides, the weakened spring cannot be established.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dismantle a depreciation rack.
  2. Clamp a depreciation rack for a bifurcate head in a vice. Never tighten in the field of a cylindrical detail, differently the depreciation rack will be squeezed.
  3. Install the tension device on rounds of a spring and slightly squeeze a spring.
  4. In order that tension devices did not slide off, paste over the corresponding rounds of a spring with an adhesive tape.
  5. Weaken a nut with a flange above a depreciation rack. By means of a key with an internal hexagon wring out a shock-absorber piston rod to the opposite side.
  6. Remove a spring with auxiliary details.
  7. Remove a protective cap and a lining under a spring.
  8. Separate a plate of a spring a plastic hammer and remove it.
  9. Installation: put on a plate of a spring the new shock-absorber.
  10. Pay attention to assembly situation: the opening in a plate of a spring has to be with shift in 90 ° in relation to openings in a bifurcate head below on the shock-absorber (a tolerance only 2 °).
  11. Establish a lining under a spring, a protective cap and a cover, and also the persistent shock-absorber.
  12. Establish a spring which is still under a tension on a plate; track that the lower end of rounds of a spring adjoined to a plate emphasis of a spring.
  13. Put on the top plate of a spring with the bearing of a depreciation rack and a washer.
  14. Twirl a plate of a spring according to drawing on 11 ° to an axis of screwing up of the shock-absorber (below at a bifurcate head). On the right and left side the different directions.
  15. Work precisely: the admission is formed only 2 °.
  16. Tighten a nut with a flange above on a depreciation rack on 60 Nanometers. By means of a key with an internal hexagon wring out a shock-absorber piston rod to the opposite side.
  17. Weaken a spring tension, thus track that the end of a spring adjoined to a spring lining emphasis.

Dismantle of the forward wheel bearing

Here figures (1–3) designated fixing bolts of the top arm of the bearing of a forward axis.

The wheel bearing is pressed by the external ring in the case, in an internal ring of the bearing the wheel nave is pressed. It is impossible to get the bearing hinges (axis hinges) on four levers of a suspension bracket on each outer side of a forward axis separately the same as their cuffs. From this it follows that at defect of the bearing hinge it is necessary to change all lever of an independent suspension bracket at once.

Not so affairs with rubber-metal support on inside of levers of a suspension bracket of an axis are. They in a workshop can be wrung out and pressed separately. Thus it is necessary to adhere to their assembly situation precisely. We prefer and we describe replacement assembled as the press fitting has to be made in a workshop. Besides, in this case the axis hinge thanks to what the following defect in the same knot is excluded is at the same time replaced.

Dismantle of both levers of an independent suspension bracket of an axis above

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. All have to be replaced samokontryashchiyesya nuts and bolts of a bearing support of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/arm; get the new.
  2. In the beginning dismantle an arm above: the car needs to be lifted and fixed.
  3. Unscrew three fixing bolts of an arm in a motive compartment.
  4. Dismantle a wheel.
  5. Disconnect a wire of the sensor of number of turns of ABS on a depreciation rack.
  6. Unscrew a nut of a tightening bolt of the top hinges of an axis. Unscrew tightening a bolt.
  7. Take out axis hinges above from the case of the wheel bearing (rotary fists). Thus do not expand vents of the case of the wheel bearing, for example, with a screw-driver at all.
  8. Do not wring out the hinge of cross steering draft.
  9. Cast away outside the case of the wheel bearing.
  10. Unscrew the lower screw connection of a depreciation rack.
  11. Carefully take out from a wheel niche a depreciation rack together with an arm.
  12. Weaken screw connections of hinges of an axis.
  13. Installation: screw axis suspension bracket levers, having slightly inclined them down so that between an outer edge of an arm and levers of a suspension bracket of an axis there was a distance in 55 mm (the admission of 2 mm).
  14. The moment of an inhaling of levers of a suspension bracket of an axis above on an arm: 50 Nanometers. Then tighten on 1/4 turns.
  15. Again insert a depreciation rack with an arm.
  16. Tighten the lower fastening of a depreciation rack on 90 Nanometers.
  17. Insert the bearing hinges against the stop into the case of the wheel bearing.
  18. Insert tightening a bolt of the top hinges of an axis, tighten nuts on 40 Nanometers.
  19. Again fix ABS wires.

Dismantle (bearing) levers of an independent suspension bracket below

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Replace everything samokontryashchiyesya nuts, and also bolts of a bearing support of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis; the same belongs to a flange nut on outer side of the hinge of an axis and to ridge nuts of a connecting bar of the stabilizer.
  2. Lift the car and fix it.
  3. Dismantle a wheel.
  4. Unscrew from outer side on the axis hinge a flange nut, wring out a hinge neck from a conic nest on the case of the wheel bearing the corresponding removable device (for example, a big stripper for cross steering draft).
  5. Unscrew the lower screw connection of a depreciation rack.
  6. Unscrew a ridge nut of a connecting bar of the stabilizer, remove a connecting bar.
  7. Weaken screw connection of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis.
  8. Take out the bearing axis suspension bracket lever.
  9. Installation: clean an axis hinge neck. Tighten a flange nut of the hinge of an axis on 100 Nanometers.
  10. Tighten the lower fastening of a depreciation rack on 90 Nanometers.
  11. Again insert screw connection of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis. Use thus internal openings on a body. At a tightening wring out inside the axis suspension bracket lever. Tighten a nut on 90 Nanometers. Then tighten it on 1/4 turns.
  12. Insert a connecting bar of the stabilizer (the arrow specifies the direction of the movement), tighten a ridge nut on 90 Nanometers.
  13. The nut and big bolts of a support of the unit, and also flange nut on outer side on the axis hinge have to be replaced a bolt of a bearing support of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis, it samokontryashchayasya.

Dismantle (directing) levers of an independent suspension bracket below

In drawing the distance "And" on which the top cross levers of an independent suspension bracket have to be removed from the top arm (or their line of a descent) when screw connections are tightened (1) is shown.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Lift the car and fix it.
  2. Dismantle a wheel.
  3. Unscrew from outer side on the axis hinge a flange nut, wring out a hinge neck from a conic nest on the case of the wheel bearing the corresponding removable device (for example, a big stripper for cross steering draft).
  4. Weaken screw connection of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis.
  5. To take out a universal bolt (it cannot be reused), it is necessary to lower an axis body.
  6. Therefore unscrew on basic guards both bolts of the smaller size with six-sided heads, and also larger bolt (a unit support bolt).
  7. Take out the axis suspension bracket lever.
  8. Installation: clean an axis hinge neck. Tighten a flange nut of the hinge of an axis on 100 Nanometers.
  9. Again insert screw connection of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis. Use thus internal openings on a body. At a tightening wring out inside the axis suspension bracket lever. Tighten a nut on 90 Nanometers. Then tighten it on 1/4 turns.
  10. Tighten both smaller bolts with six-sided heads on basic guards on 25 Nanometers, tighten larger bolt (a unit support bolt) on 110 Nanometers. Then tighten it on 1/4 turns.
