- Dismantle a depreciation rack and clamp it in a vice for the lower fixing eye. Do not clamp it in the field of external diameter, differently it will be pressed through.
- Install the tension device on rounds of a spring and slightly squeeze a spring.
- In order that the tension device did not slide off, paste over the corresponding rounds of a spring with an adhesive tape.
- Wring out a protective cap, weaken above on a connecting bar of the stabilizer samokontryashchuyusya a nut, thus wring out a bar in an opposite direction a key with an internal hexagon.
- After unscrewing of a nut remove details of the top support of a depreciation rack and put them in sequence of dismantle.
- Remove a spring and auxiliary details from the shock-absorber.
- At assembly pay attention that: the basis of a spring and a lining are greased with talc and at assembly are corrected in the direction of a shock-absorber eye.
- Establish still squeezed spring.
- The color tag on a spring is turned down to a plate of a spring.
- At the correct installation the lower end of a spring adjoins to a lining emphasis.
- Assembly of details in that order, as shown in drawing above.
- Above the end of a spring also adjoins to the top dredging for a spring eye.
- Correct the shock-absorber and a plate of a spring above as it is shown in drawing above.
- Tighten a fixing nut above on 25 Nanometers.
- If it is necessary, move for the end of a spring a spring lining below and a lining on an emphasis.
- Slowly weaken a spring.
- Put on from above a cap, thus correct its arrangement according to drawing.

Dismantle of back shock-absorbers

Along with new shock-absorbers use also new samokontryashchuyusya a nut and a new bolt for the top fastening of the shock-absorber:

- Dismantle a depreciation rack and clamp it in a vice for the lower fixing eye. Do not clamp it in the field of external diameter, differently it will be pressed through.
- Install the tension device on rounds of a spring and slightly squeeze a spring.
- In order that the tension device did not slide off, paste over the corresponding rounds of a spring with an adhesive tape.
- Weaken samokontryashchuyusya a nut of the top fastening of the shock-absorber, take out a bolt.
- Remove the shock-absorber, a spring and the damping ring.
- Establish still the squeezed spring.
- The color tag on a spring is turned below to a plate of a spring.
- The lower end of a spring adjoins to dredging of an eye of a spring below on the shock-absorber.
- Above the end of a spring too adjoins to dredging of a depreciation ring.
- Again collect a depreciation rack (a spring still under a tension).
- In the beginning freely manually screw the top fastening of the shock-absorber on the top part of a depreciation rack (the so-called adapter).
- Correct the shock-absorber and the top part of a depreciation rack so that the imagined axes of both fixing openings of shock-absorbers were on the relation to each other at an angle 21 ° (the admission only 2 °). Thus the lower opening is in front turned to outer side of the car (see drawing on the right above).
- In this situation unload a spring.
- Now tighten a nut of a fixing bolt of the shock-absorber on 70 Nanometers. Then tighten it on 1/2 turns.

Replacement of the bearing of a back wheel

- On each party one new forelock, one internal and one external bearing, and also a sealing ring is used.
- Lift and fix the car.
- Dismantle brake disks (head Tormoza), for this purpose dismantle a support.
- Remove a cap for greasing of the wheel bearing.
- Straighten the safety forelock and take out it.
- Remove a stopper of a koronchaty nut and unscrew a six-sided nut.
- Remove a press washer and the external wheel bearing.
- Wring out behind in the middle of a wheel nave a sealing ring, take out the bearing and wipe old greasing in a nave.
- Take out the rotating rings of both bearings from the middle of a nave of a wheel. For this purpose put from the different parties a brass core to the rotating ring from within and in soft blows of a hammer beat out it outside. Track that the ring was not bent.
- Establish a new ring of the bearing on a wheel nave. For protection put from above an old ring of the bearing (the thick party down) in order that at careful driving in there were no damages on a working surface of the new bearing.
- Hammer all rings of bearings against the stop.
- Now again take out all old rings of bearings put for protection.
- Fill with greasing intermediate space between both rings of the bearing, and also a ring and bearings.
- Insert the internal bearing.
- Evenly hammer with a rubber hammer a sealing ring on inside.
- Pull a wheel nave over the end of an axis.
- Put on the external wheel bearing and a press washer.
- Manually screw a six-sided nut on the end of an axis; thus constantly turn a wheel in order that the bearing was not bent.
- Adjust the wheel bearing (see the following section).
- Establish a brake disk and a support (head Tormoza). Then several times press a brake pedal.

- Lift back part of the car and record it.
- The wheel in cars with steel rims can be not dismantled. If rims from light metals, a wheel it is necessary to remove to improve access.
- Remove a nave cap, the forelock and a koronchaty stopper as it is described above.
- Put the six-sided clamp without effort, rotating thus a wheel not to clamp the bearing.
- Again weaken a nut a little.
- The gap is established correctly if the press washer behind a nut can be a little shifted by a screw-driver with strong pressing of a finger. Do not damage a screw-driver edge of a nave of a wheel.
- If now the lock forelock cannot be advanced through a koronchaty stopper, turn a nut in the direction of screwing up a little.
- Pull a nave cap by means of a rubber hammer if it is necessary, put between them the curtailed rag.

Wheel bearing of the quattro models
The all-wheel drive model has pressed double ball-bearings also on a back axis. They do not need to be regulated, but due to the lack of necessary press stamps they cannot be replaced by own efforts.
