Frontal part of the car

Designated here by figures from "1" to "10" high-speed locks have to be removed at dismantle of the lower facing of a motive compartment.


The arm (2) bumpers is attached to a body by three bolts with six-sided heads (3). The carving plug (1) serves for adjustment of a bumper on height.


When the bumper (4) is removed, it is visible: 1 – fixing bolt of a wing; 2 – one of fixing bolts of a headlight; 3 – lateral arm of a bumper.

Dismantle of the lower facing of a motive compartment

The lower facing of a motive compartment significantly promotes high coefficient of an obtekayemost of a body of Audi, and also decrease in noise. Unfortunately, this facing has to be dismantled during many works on maintenance of the engine (for example, when replacing oil).

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Lift and record forward part of the car.
  2. Turn on 90 ° on two synthetic high-speed locks in wheel niches on the right and at the left to the left.
  3. On back, and also on the forward end of facing by a screw-driver turn on 90 ° on three high-speed locks to the left.
  4. Lower facing ahead on shtekerny connection of a bumper.
  5. At installation carefully insert facing into bottom edge of a bumper. Then in the beginning fix back high-speed locks.

Bring frontal part of the car (6) into situation for service (the main stages of work): screw up the special tool (8) in openings (5), for this purpose unscrew a bolt (2) on the right. Unscrew bolts 1, 3, 4. Pull frontal part approximately on 70 mm forward and this time screw up bolts 4 in forward carving openings 7.


Reduction of frontal part of the car in situation for service: it is pushed forward on distance from a bolt 1 to a bolt 2. Then the bolt 1 is screwed up in openings of a bolt 2.


Reduction of frontal part of the car in situation for service: the figure "2" showed the screwed-up special tool 3369 consisting of a long bolt and a pipe. Figures "1", "3", "4" and "5" designated bolts which have to be weakened for shift of frontal part.


The rear view of the dismantled A4 front grille:

1 and 2 – fixing clamps on the upper edge;
3 and 4 – directing on bottom edge.

Reduction of frontal part of the car in situation for service

The frontal part of the car is required to be given to situation for service even for replacement of a maple belt in the car with the four-cylinder engine. For this purpose the frontal part is extended a little forward on two screwing-up bolts. Bolts in Audi have number of the tool 3369, but can be replaced with two pieces of a pipe (external diameter of 17 mm, length of 80 mm, thickness of walls of 1 mm), and also two bolts of M8 (the minimum length of 90 mm).

Further it is necessary to work as follows:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dismantle a bumper.
  2. In the openings (see a photo below) provided for reception of tools 3369 (as replacement our pipe), note a felt-tip pen an arrangement of frontal part. Thus, it will be possible to check the correct provision of frontal part at the subsequent assembly.
  3. Screw up the tool 3369 (as replacement our pipes) in provided for this opening. For this purpose unscrew the bolt which is screwed up there on the right.
  4. Unscrew all bolts of an arm of a bumper.
  5. Then unscrew on the right and at the left one bolt under lamps of indexes of turns, and also on two bolts above on headlights.
  6. Pull frontal part approximately on 70 mm forward.
  7. For fixation of frontal part screw up back of two bolts above on headlights in a carving opening of the first.
  8. Installation: again move up frontal part to the car and in the beginning screw a bumper – only after it unscrew auxiliary tools.
  9. After assembly check, whether the marks made in the beginning settle down again in the center of openings. In this case assembly provision of frontal part the correct.

 Council: The frontal part of the car is dismantled by the same way which is described in the previous section.

Dismantle of a front grille

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Open a cowl.
  2. Above on a reverse side of a lattice wring out fixing clamps down.
  3. Cast away a front grille forward and after that remove.
  4. Installation: hang bottom edge of a front grille with directing in an assembly opening of a cowl.
  5. Insert a lattice into an assembly opening and press the upper edge so that it entered a groove on all width.
