The combined device

Here we dismantled the decorative panel of the combined device (3) to bare both fixing screws with crosswise heads (1 and 2).


The Mnogoshtyrkovy socket (2) can be removed from the combined device if highly to wring out a plastic clip (1).


To dismantle a back cover of the combined device, it is necessary to weaken both TORX 2 and 3 screws in the beginning. Figures 1 and 4 designated two of four screws which have to be weakened to unscrew a payment.


Dismantle of a back cover of the combined device: after weakening of screws it is necessary to open only six plastic clips (two of them are shown by figures "1" and "2").

At the left ahead on a transmission you see the pulse sensor of a tachometer (1). For dismantle of the pulse sensor wring out a clamp (a direct arrow) down, turn the pulse sensor (a curved arrow) and take out it from a transmission. At installation grease with vaseline rubber rings of round section.

Dismantle of the combined device

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Open the device of adjustment of a steering wheel, pull a steering wheel back and wring out down.
  2. Dismantle a steering wheel (the head Podvesk of wheels and a steering).
  3. Dismantle the top cover of lever switches behind a steering wheel. For this purpose weaken in the lower part of facing on the right and at the left two screws with crosswise heads and remove the top part of facing.
  4. Cast away the decorative panel under the combined device back.
  5. Weaken two screws with crosswise heads below on the combined device.
  6. Carefully take out the combined device from a control panel.
  7. Having weakened a clamp (highly wring out a plastic clip or deblock clamps), carefully remove the mnogoshtyrkovy socket.

 Council: When replacing of the combined device the workshop has to transfer information on run from the old device to the new. For these purposes the device for reading of the V.A.G 1551 computer is used. In the same way adjustment of the indicator of amount of fuel in a fuel tank, the indicator of fuel consumption and the indicator of frequency of maintenance is in case of need carried out.

Replacement of control bulbs in the combined device

Control bulbs change from a reverse side of the combined device without its further dismantling. Glow lamps of control bulbs in Audi are strongly soldered to the cartridges and as spare parts are on sale only assembled. Upon their purchase consider color of cartridges: the 1,1 W and 1,2 W bulbs with cartridges of different color are put. To dismantle a cartridge of a bulb, turn it on a quarter of a turn to the left and take out.

The same belongs and to illumination of a scale. But it is necessary to pay attention that some of these bulbs are supplied with orange caps. Caps are rearranged on new bulbs.

The faulty combined device

Unfortunately, Audi offers the combined device for replacement only assembled. Separate components are not on sale therefore at its malfunction it is necessary to dip a hand deeply into a pocket.

The one who is not afraid of electronics, maybe, at least to venture dismantling of the combined device and to examine a payment on existence of obvious defects.

Dismantling of the combined device

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dismantle a back cover of the combined device. For this purpose weaken two TORX screws at the left and on the right and wring out six plastic clips.
  2. Unscrew a payment (four more TORX screws).
  3. The speedometer and tachometer are soldered by sockets; the tool, smaller by the size, is connected with big in one constructive element.
  4. Additional tools for measurement of temperature of oil and onboard tension are dismantled separately (a six-sided nut on a reverse side; the inserted sockets).
