Indicator of temperature of cooling liquid

The sensor (1) temperature of cooling liquid is in the four-cylinder engine behind on a head of the block of cylinders. You will find designation of contacts of the sensor on the socket. 2 – cap of the second sensor of temperature (climatic installation).


In the six-cylinder engine the sensor (2) temperatures of cooling liquid is screwed up in a tube of cooling liquid behind the right head of the block of cylinders. The socket (1) sensor is removed here.


The sensor of the indicator of level of cooling liquid (2) is installed below in a broad tank (1) cooling liquid.

The indicator of temperature of cooling liquid functions the same as the indicator of amount of fuel in a fuel tank. Current receives the device from plus at the included ignition, connection to weight provides temperature sensor on the engine. This sensor represents the variable resistance which in process of heating passes more current therefore on the tool more current and the shooter moves deviates further. In one case two different sensors of temperature are integrated. First, the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid of system of injection (contacts 1 and 3) and, secondly, the sensor about which it was told here (contacts 2 and 4).

 Council: At too high temperature of cooling liquid the blinking red alarm bulb in addition joins. Work of this bulb the microprocessor of the combined device operates. The bulb also flashes at lowering of the level of cooling liquid. In cars with system of autocontrol instead of a lamp there is a red Kuhlmittel symbol – "Cooling liquid".

Violations in work

  • The wrong indications of the indicator of temperature of cooling liquid (most often at at the same time inexact indications of amount of fuel) allow to draw a conclusion on malfunction of the microprocessor in the combined device.
  • Lack of indication can be a consequence of malfunction of the sensor of temperature or the device.
  • At the correct indication and at the same time blinking emergency signal the cause of defect can be also in the sensor of the indicator of level of cooling liquid in a broad tank.

Check of the indicator of temperature of cooling liquid

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the mnogoshtyrkovy socket on temperature sensor in a motive compartment.
  2. 2 mnogoshtyrkovy sockets extend single contact to temperature sensor (a blue/brown wire) on contact by means of a piece of a wire and apply to the bared metal (weight). Designation of contacts is on the socket.
  3. Include for a while ignition.
  4. If motionless to this shooter of the indicator slowly moves on a scale and the control bulb will start blinking, temperature sensor was faulty – replace it.
  5. If the arrow of the indicator remains motionless, defect in the bringing wire, in the microprocessor or in the most indicator device. About its dismantle it is written at the beginning of the head.
